Speculation that Pugh might take the reins from Van Assche reached a fever pitch when LVMH chief Bernard Arnault's daughter Delphine Arnault sat front-row at his very first menswear show at Paris Men's Fashion week and called the collection "beautiful" and "amazing." Critics, too, called it flawless. This is really fucking exciting news for anyone into menswear. Van Assche never quite lived up to Hedi Slimane, who left Dior Homme almost two years ago, and anytime you mention Dior Homme everyone says something like "its nice but I don't care because it's not Hedi Slimane." If anyone can bring a label back from being a bit behind, its Pugh. Celebs like Beyonce, as I posted a month or two back, have really started jocking Gareth Pugh's line and I imagine the Dior Homme line will be at least comparable to when Hedi Slimane was at the reins.

The collection, Black Apple, currently features three PVC jackets featuring all the trimming expected from Public School but with a bumped down price tag making them ultra appealing in cost. The collection will be sold exclusively through Urban Outfitters this Fall.

Check out the new Nom De Guerre Anti Exposure Parka coming later this year. It is very tech, even though you can't tell from the photo. Check out the new Nom De Guerre Anti Exposure Parka coming later this year. It is very tech, even though you can't tell from the photo. Great for the winter but apparently it is going to be coming out for the Spring line or Pre-Spring line. I am not exactly sure why but I am guessing it's thin and you can use it for riding your bike/motorcycle/vespa/horse. Who knows. This is a preview of a letterman jacket from the new sportswear line of all 50's inspired clothing from Whitesville. They come from a well known Japanese denim house and should be available in the U.S. and Europe very soon. More photos and info soon.

Famed Dj, Dj Khaled, has been appointed president of Def Jam South.
Khaled, who says he has always wanted to be an executive, will oversee records by Ludacris, Young Jeezy, Ace Hood and of course Rick Ross.
Ross's new album, Deeper Than Rap, will be the first release under Khaled’s watch which he also A&R’d.
“This is what I’ve always wanted to do, is be an executive and take it to another level,” Khaled told MTV.
“L.A. [Reid] just hit me one day. He was like, ‘We should bring Khaled on board. He makes hits, he has relationships.’
I got a team of producers and we go in hard.
My job is to bring hits to the table and work with new artists and work with established artists.
I’m bringing new energy to the game and to the building.”

We caught up with Phillip Lim this week at the Crystallized Swarovski Elements launch party for Unbridaled, a book of photographs of wedding decorations and gowns inspired by Swarovski crystals (Lim designed a gown for the book). What can we expect for his February show, which is so far away, yet so necessary to know about right this second? "Fun. Glamorous. Edgy. Jewel-toned colors. More luxe and rich in a way that it's not about more expensive — it's just the depth, the texture, the color, the feel," he explained. "It's the girl growing up.
