1600'S-1800'S HANDGUN COLLECTION AT THE M.E.T.



























Today I made a short visit to a few wings at the overwhelming Metropolitan Museum Of Art in Manhattan's upper west side. One wing in the oversized building is the Hall Of Arms. In it there is a vast collection of weapons and armor from all the different ages, up until the late 1800's, some of it dating back to ancient Japan and China. Here is a few photos from the collection of handguns. Every one is from a different time period and some date back as far as the 1600's. This is only about 1/4th of the collection of just handguns in the museums perminent collection. Sorry about the poor quality of photos, I used my brothers Casio point-and-shoot...
