Although this happened a little bit ago, I thought I would post this sad(yet funny) story about the Choque Cultural Gallery and their recent encounter with a group of about 30 local “pixadores” who vandalized the gallery to demonstrate their displeasure over what they view as the “domestication of street art.” This is the first thing art-wise I have seen in a long time that really moved me. They defaced numerous works created by Brazil’s burgeoning art contingency who found a home for their work at this gallery. I love it when people take art into their own hands. Amazing...Look at them fucking up the Juxtapos magazines! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
