FIFTH AVE SHORE REPAIR A/W 2008

Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair is one an exciting new group of designers making strong moves in menswear from Scandanavia. The Swedish menswear company have released some of their Fall/Winter collection through OakNYC this week. In keeping with their signature look, draped knitwear and low crotch pants keep a classic fabric appeal. Included amongst the collection are technically functional items including a toggled hoodie and zip sweater, proving once again that a traditional aesthetic can sit alongside the future of menswear.

Salvador Dalí and Oscar Tusquets designed this new lip sofa. Really cool I think. Suck my ass. Haha...

VOGUE UK X TIM BURTON X HELENA BONHAM CARTER X DAHL

Vogue UK enlisted Tim Burton, actors Helena Bonham Carter, Imelda Staunton and Jamie Bell, and musician Lightspeed Champion amongst others, to help bring to life, Dahl's powerful vision through fashion.

TOM FORD DIRECTS A MOVIE!

Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode will star in A Single Man for director Tom Ford.

The project is produced by Ford's Fade to Black with Chris Weitz and Andrew Miano of Depth of Field and Robert Salerno of Artina Films. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Los Angeles next week.

A Single Man, written by Ford and David Scearce, centers on a British college professor who loses his partner of 16 years. The script's adapted from Christopher Isherwood's 1964 novel, which follows a single day in a professor's life in Los Angeles.

BEYONCE WEARS GARETH PUGH!?!

If you haven't seen this picture yet, drink it in, bitches, because Beyoncé wore Gareth Effing Pugh at the MTV Europe Awards last night. Beyoncé, who normally struts the carpet in sequined pageant frocks designed by her mom, Tina Knowles, surprised us by going for such an edgy look. But you've gotta applaud the choice and realize she wore it well. "Gareth Pugh’s work is explosive and she had to wear it. She thinks he is an amazing talent," Beyoncé's stylist, Ty Hunter, told People.com. Now, I don't disagree that Gareth pretty much rules, but I am a little shocked Beyoncé shares the same sentiments. I never would have guessed. And I have to wonder if perhaps she chose the dress to combat a certain popular singer who's mentored by Jay-Z and who easily pulls off lesser-known designers like PPQ — Rihanna. Nonetheless, I'm glad edgier designers are getting more attention. I hope Beyoncé keeps it up and keeps us interested.

NIKE ESPO 2 AIRFORCE 2 HI'S

These are modeled after the highly-desired Nike Air Force 2s Espo did quite a few years back, hence the name they have donned "the Espo 2s". However, Espo didn't have anything to do with them. They are actually made to resemble the Wii. The shiny silver parts on the side actually has the shape of the front of the Wii in repeat print, all of the shoes are White/Silver (there are 5 different styles), and each one has a On/Off “Button” on the tongue just like the Wii-mote. Good luck getting these when they drop in 2009.

GODDES AND SHE - LICK IT(BANNED FROM MTV)

Here is the video from lesbian hip hop group Goddes and She's Lick It. The video was banned from MTV before it could become a hit.
